Olam Agri – A dependable partner in Cameroon’s Food Security Agenda
Olam’s rich history and deep understanding of Africa stretches over the past 30 years. Why Africa, one may ask? Africa is fast-moving from subsistence agriculture to a more intensified form of agriculture capable of feeding the world. A case study for better scope into Olam’s activities in Africa is Cameroon. Over the past 27 years, the company has been a stalwart partner in the country, working closely with the authorities, industry, and farming communities in Cameroon to help in the socio-economic development of the country.
In 2020, Olam announced a re-organisation which saw the creation of two distinct operating, ofi and Olam Agri. The latter is driven by its purpose to transform food, feed, and fibre for a more sustainable future. Olam Agri’s Amit Agrawal named Ghana CEO of the Year

Country Head of Olam Agri in Ghana, Amit Agrawal, was named ‘Overall Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Year’ in the private sector at the 6th Ghana CEO Summit held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra on May 30, 2022.
Mr. Agrawal received the Excellence Award in recognition of his business leadership and the role he has played in transforming the agriculture industry in Ghana and West Africa.

Congolaise Industrielle des Bois (CIB) inaugurates 3rd timber processing unit in Republic of Congo
Congolaise Industrielle des Bois (CIB) recently inaugurated its 3rd processing unit in the presence of the Ministry of Forest Economy (MEF), Republic of Congo, Her Excellency Mrs Rosalie Matondo.
CIB continues to remain committed to maximising the value addition at source and supporting the local economy through job creation in the industry and ecological and social programmes. The Enyelle timber processing unit is a giant leap forward with its state-of-the-art manufacturing line, making it one of the most modern processing units in the Republic of Congo and West Africa.
Built on an area of 46,000 m2, the first phase of the processing line will produce around 1,500 M3 of finished products per month. The automated line boasts modern equipment, including a customised opticut machine which guarantees the maximum recovery of defect-free products.
