Olam Agri's wheat milling business in Nigeria gets Presidential recognition for robust economic contribution

Crown Flour Mills (CFM), Olam Agri’s wheat milling business in Nigeria, was awarded the National Productivity Order of Merit Award in recognition of its robust economic contribution in the country. The award was presented by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari at an event held in Abuja on 12 May 2022. CFM is the largest miller in Africa with its own truck fleet operations. Instituted by the Nigerian Federal Government through the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the award recognises individuals and businesses who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in key areas of the economy.

Olam Agri Cameroon marks World Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Riz Mémé in partnership with Olam Agri Cameroon, launched a week-long awareness campaign to spread knowledge on breast cancer, its preventive measures, and ways to combat the disease. The campaign included various activities highlighting the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, methods of prevention, early detection, screening and a donation exercise.

Olam Agri – A dependable partner in Cameroon’s Food Security Agenda

A Sustainable, Equitable Food System Needs to be Nourished at the Source
COVID-19 has exposed many of the vulnerabilities in our food system, one of which is just how reliant global supply chains are on people’s well-being at every step of the journey. The small-scale farmers in emerging markets who produce much of the world’s food ingredients, live in countries that face high rates of malnutrition, with many farming households unable to eat healthily themselves.
The strong link between health and agricultural productivity is one of the reasons nutrition has moved up the sustainability agenda for Olam. Malnutrition is said to cost the private sector as much as $850 billion a year in lost productivity, according to a recent Chatham House reporti, with much of this borne by the ag sector given the labour intensity of farming. So as a business that plans to run efficiently for the next 30, 50 years and beyond, helping to reduce malnutrition in the communities where we operate is actually a down payment on future productivity.
