Today, we are one of the largest employers, with 600 staff and nearly 3,400 seasonal workers operating across 23 locations.
With nearly 20 years’ experience and an extensive distribution network spanning most of Mozambique’s towns, our rice business has flourished launching award-winning brands such as Mama Africana, Tio António, Saboroso and Royal Aroma.
We continue to grow our edible oils distribution business through this same network. Our 2 refining facilities in Sofala and Maputo Provinces are providing further synergies between our edible oil processing and distribution business. Our brands include Dona, Sunseed and Diolivia Sabor and most recently, Dioliva Seasoning Oil.
Also located at our 2 national refineries, we produce household names in the soap market such as the Bingo, and the antibacterial soaps, Cristal, and Coral.
We operate 3 cotton concessions in Nampula, Tete and Sofala where we actively support some 40,000 farmers’ livelihoods. We ensure they receive the necessary inputs (like seeds and fertiliser) and financing to improve yields and productivity, and secure a ready market for their produce by buying directly from them.
More than 500 jobs have been generated in our 4 processing factories in Ribáuè, Beira, Morrumbala and Guru.
We are proud to provide work and livelihoods for many women. At our cashew processing factories, as an example, over 90% of our 1,500 workers are women. We also continue to work with experts to improve our peanut, cashew, sesame and cotton sourcing operations, as well as strengthen our smallholder programmes.
