In 2010 Olam Cocoa opened an office in Duran, Guayaquil and within 4 years, had become the largest exporter in the country with buying operations spread throughout the cocoa belt, including the major Nacional (fine-flavour) growing regions.
Our dedicated team of expert agronomists work tirelessly with farmers to help increase their productivity and incomes, whilst protecting the environment and the country’s abundant biodiversity. This also gives us first-hand information of local markets to inform customers.
In addition to cocoa, we also export plantation teak from suppliers who pass our due diligence for legal and responsible production.
We employ nearly 100 people across the country.
