Since then, SOSEMA has grown into a leading agro-commodity company in Senegal and one of the leading importers and distributors of milk powder and rice.
Our grains business has also invested significantly in wheat milling, with our facility producing biscuit and baguette flour. We engage with bakers across the country to better understand their needs. Technical design and a focus on effiicency and environment has meant that our Senegal plant runs with around 25% lower power consumption than some of our other mills in Africa. Our initiatives to enable this include using renewables for lighting, section wise power monitoring, use of variable speed drives and single drives for multiple applications.
Overall in Senegal, we employ 61 permanent staff out of our head office in Dakar.
