Grains & Feed Sourcing

Olam sources grain prediminantly in Australia and in the Black Sea region.

In Australia, we procure our grain directly from farmers. These grains are traded from our Melbourne office and sold into various Asian and Pacific destinations. The Melbourne office also houses our Pacific freight desk.

We are the second largest exporter of wheat out of Russia with an extensive procurement footprint, port and other logistics assets in the Black Sea region, including Ukraine. We sell to Mediterranean markets like Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Italy and Greece, as well as to Asian markets.

We also source wheat, maize and other grains in India, primarily for their domestic market and participate in a limited way in trading domestic cash markets in the USA.

Our physical presence in major origin and consuming countries for these products has given us an in-depth understanding of local market dynamics, helping us develop long-standing relationships with both producers and consumers.
