Our goal is 'zero lost time incidents (LTIs)'. We work towards eliminating as many risks which cause injuries or illnesses as we can. The leadership team in the Republic of Congo is committed to maintaining a 'Safety First' culture. As a result of continuous efforts, the LTI in the last two years has reduced to 1/8th. We recorded LTIFR of 1.2 in 2019, with annual person-hours of 3.43 million
We have taken various steps to ensure that the safety culture is embedded in our organisations. Safety Training: All employees at the time of induction are given safety training and subsequent refresher training A total of 97 safety training sessions were conducted in 2019 across all production and office units.
- Safety Drills: 24 Safety drills conducted in 2019
- Inspection and Audits: 24 workplace inspections and risk assessment completed
- Monthly Recording of Safety Indicators: Every month 'Near Miss' and 'Unsafe Acts' are recorded and analysed for corrective action
- Identifying and acknowledging effort: Safety managers and employees are recognised for their efforts and are rewarded for passing message of priority.
