We have developed strong origination capabilities in China, Argentina, India and the USA which together account for 90% of global trade. In India, USA and China we have built strong relationships over the years with farmer suppliers to ensure we have unfettered access to the right quality raw material under all market conditions.
In Argentina, we directly farm approximately 20,000 hectares. We produce raw and blanched peanuts of runner variety in the various jumbo and medium grades as well as splits. As most of our production is exclusively farmed by Olam and supervised by our agronomists, we can provide customers with both a reliable and a traceable supply. Coupled with an unrelenting focus on food safety, we also ensure sustainable farming practices, including no-till seeding and a disciplined used of agrochemicals. We provide extensive food and personal safety, health and labour training to all employees and farming contractors, while our processing plant is certified to GMP, HACCP, BRC, Kosher, SMETA-4 (Sedex member) standards. This plant is also certified to supply high oleic peanuts. This footprint enables us to manage supply chain disruptions and make recommendations for cost effective alternatives.
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. This includes educating farmers on the risks associated with Aflatoxin, and testing in accordance with the stated regulatory levels for safe human consumption.
We also focus on improving farmer livelihoods at a grass roots level through productivity improvement initiatives that include organising farmer business groups, providing them with critical inputs and building up capacities among both farming and trading communities.
As the only processor present in each of the world’s major peanut producing and exporting origins, we have a unique configuration of facilities and capabilities engaged in all aspects of processing from shelling to blanching to manufacturing peanut paste and ingredients.
Our peanut shelling plants are located in Argentina, India and the USA, while our 5 blanching facilities are spread across the USA (3), Argentina (1) and India (1) making us the largest independent blancher in the world.
We manufacture peanut ingredients such as dry roasted peanuts, peanut paste and granulated peanuts in 2 facilities strategically located in the key growing regions of America. Our facilities are HACCP, ISO or BRC accredited, with our quality assurance teams interacting closely with customers. We perform pre-shipment micro-testing on all peanut ingredients to ensure quality and food safety.
Our team’s 40+ years of experience in maximising quality and yield combined with proprietary foreign matter removal technologies supports our aim to be the industry benchmark in product quality and customer service. We also seek to minimise our impact on the environment such as using peanut shells as biomass in renewable energy.
