Olam Thailand was incorporated in 2009. Since then, we’ve continued to invest in our operations and support the local economy, communities and sustainability initiatives.
We’ve made a long-term commitment to Thailand, and our recent sustainability initiatives include our support and involvement as the first corporate signatory to the country’s “Thai Rice NAMA” initiative, which aims to help 100,000 farmers reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next 5 years.
We began sourcing and processing rice in 1994. Today we’re one of the largest traders and leading exporters from Thailand.
Our modern processing and packing facility on the banks of the Chao Phrya River in Bangkok allows us easy access to both domestic and international markets. We also source on behalf of other.
Our broad involvement in the value chain from working with local farmers, to processing and supplying peers and global customers, provides price, risk and product insights which are invaluable both for us and for our customers.

We deliver the largest Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) project in the world.
In 2019, we became the first fully audited and certified programme to deliver rice under the SRP banner with almost 30,000 MT of premium Thai Hom Mali certified paddy rice.
Our programme in the Northeast Provinces of Ubon Ratchathani and Surin reaches in excess of 15,000 farmers. The project is part of the Better Rice Initiative Asia (BRIA) Phase II, and is the world’s first large-scale, climate-smart and sustainable programme for rice.
