Our American story began in 2002 when we started exporting cotton from the South East.

From one employee in a small office in Wilmington, North Carolina, over the years we have grown to employ 5,000 people across 24 locations. A snapshot of our operations include:

Edible nuts

In the ‘State of Abundance’ that is California, we farm around 3,000 hectares (ha) of almond orchards as well as buy from other growers. We also have walnuts and pistachios. As with all our growing operations are committed to stewardship of the environment.

 

In peanuts, Olam has become the most vertically integrated supplier in the US industry with assets in shelling, blanching and ingredients. Our 7 processing facilities are strategically placed across the main peanut growing regions in the US of Texas, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina.

Annually, our US peanut operation processes enough peanuts to supply the entire US population with over 1 pound of edible peanuts! We prioritise strong relationships with all growers, along with food safety and on-time delivery for our customers.

Tomatoes

Within the tomato processing industry Olam is a leader in product, process and packaging innovation.  This includes formulation development based on customer requirements for RTD sauces, condiments, ketchup, salsas, clean label tomato purees, canned tomato products and industrial pizza sauces. We contract farmers across California and oversee the entire process from planting to harvesting.  We are also the largest organic tomato processor.

Chillies

We are the largest organic chili grower and processor in the U.S with operations in Las Cruces, new Mexico, providing full traceability from seed to delivery.

Cotton

A leading supplier of Pima, SJV and Certified FibermaxTM cotton varieties in the USA, we are based in Texas, Memphis, California and Arizona, with ginning and warehousing infrastructure in the latter 2 States.
