Our Purpose

Our Purpose is to ‘Re-imagine Global Agriculture and Food Systems’

We aim to address the challenges involved in meeting the needs of a growing global population, while achieving positive impact for farming communities, our planet and all our stakeholders.

There are 3 outcomes we intend to achieve through our Purpose:
Prosperous Farmers and Food Systems

Re-thinking how people and companies are financially rewarded to make the agricultural sector attractive and viable.

Thriving Communities

Revitalising communities who depend on agricultural systems so that people live well.

Re-Generation of The Living World

Re-generating ecosystems, soil and water to create landscapes where industrial agriculture, smallholders and rural commerce live with nature.

Our Purpose in Context

Millions of farmers, specifically smallholders, who grow cash crops like cocoa, cashew and cotton, are living at subsistence levels, while natural resources, such as soil and forests, are being degraded or lost at an alarming rate. Meanwhile around a third of all food produced is lost or wasted. With the population set to increase by 2 billion by 2050 – our food system is not sustainable.

We need to put more back into food and farming systems than is taken out. We call this having a ‘net positive impact’ by creating ‘living landscapes’ where prosperous farmers and thriving communities co-exist with healthy ecosystems. In turn, this will make our business more resilient and identify new and exciting opportunities.

Like us, many companies have sustainability programmes in place, however we must all go beyond what is currently being done to achieve a greater impact on a greater scale. It is our ambitious mission to drive transformation in our sector, in an ethical, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable way.
