Colombia

Colombian coffee is enjoyed by coffee lovers across the world.

Perfect growing conditions produce enough Arabica make it the country’s top export. We have invested in operations buying directly from farmers throughout the coffee belt, supported by warehousing and processing facilities, and linking customers to various profiles and varieties of coffee.

Our direct presence also allows us to offer support, training, logistical and financial solutions to over 3,600 small-scale coffee farmers through sustainability programmes, helping us become a trusted partner for the local coffee community.

In addition to our mainstream offerings, we are striving to become a leader in the specialty and certified coffee segments. Overall, our commitment to customers on quality and reliability has been the main driver of our business success; today we are among the top 5 private coffee exporters in the country.

In 2017, in our first Integrated Annual Report, we began reporting against these 6 non-financial Capitals to help demonstrate how they contribute to the creation of Long-Term Value for Olam as well as create value for our stakeholders. During 2018, the Integrated Reporting Task Force (a cross functional team) was formed to evaluate our approach to multi-capital accounting. The team was tasked with establishing a numerical link to sustainability using multi-capital accounting methodologies, they went on to develop the Integrated Impact Statement (IIS).
