This week, Chris Brett, Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at Olam International, will be speaking at the Crawford Fund’s annual conference on food security, The Business of Food Security. Chris will be joining from London via live video stream, where he will be discussing how to ensure engagement, profitability and sustainability all the way through the supply chain, from the “farmer to the market”.

Well placed to offer expert insight, Chris has global responsibility for guiding and supporting Olam to further develop and integrate environmental strategies, culture, tools and actions necessary to build end-to-end sustainable agricultural supply chains. In good company, fellow speakers at the conference include  Alison Eskesen Director of Research and Accountability, Grow Asia, Marco Ferroni Executive Director, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture and Matt Willson, Australian National Manger of WWF.

The Crawford Fund is a non-profit non-government organisation that works to raise awareness of the benefits of international agricultural research to Australia and developing countries. It commissions studies on research policy and practice, and arranges specialist training activities for developing country scientists. This year’s conference on food security is being held during the Parliamentary sitting week of 10-12 August 2015 at Parliament House, Canberra, Australia, and will focus on the importance of collaboration and partnership between the public and private sectors to achieve sustainable intensification and improved food security.
