    News

The Inaugural FT Water Summit gathered leaders from the corporate world, government and civil society to discuss the innovative and collaborative approaches to water productivity and sustainability.

Held in London on Tuesday 27th October, Chris Brown Olam’s General Manager for Environmental Sustainability was invited to join a conversation piece on ‘Managing water through complex and fragmented supply chains’. Joining Chris for this discussion was Michael Alexander, Head of Environment, Water and Agriculture Sustainability at Diageo.

By focusing on 4 different examples in regards to water management at a landscape level in our supply chains, such as Olam’s SVI’s dried onion operations in California, Chris emphasised the vital role of local collaboration as well as global frameworks. In this mix, he argued, governments and communities must have a seat at the table, while the private sector can often act as catalysts for driving action. See more here.
