Olam talks to The Economist about leadership values in the global supply chain
A new video published by The Economist newspaper’s research arm, The Economist Intelligence Unit, features Olam’s managing director and Head of Cocoa, Gerard Manley, discussing how a responsible supply chain can offer competitive advantages for businesses. He explains how it is no longer an option to not be socially, ethically and environmentally responsible. Not only is this good risk management but it also strengthens relationships with farmers, suppliers, communities, and even with customers, donors and other institutions. Gerard points to collaboration as being key to tackling complex supply chain issues as well as a need for leaders to live their own values in order to create lasting change.
