Olam employees show support for the WBCSD ‘CureforClimate’ campaign

    News

Olam is backing WBCSD’s ‘Cure for Climate’ campaign through the Low Carbon Technology Partnerships Initiative (LCTPi) with a short video series.  From Sugar and Chilli in India to Coffee in Laos and Tanzania, the series features Olam employees from around the world who each highlight the importance of climate-smart agri practices for our environment and the livelihoods of our 3.9 million farmer suppliers.

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) created LCTPi to bring together businesses from around the world with the primary aim of limiting the increase in global temperatures to less than 2°C. They are collaborating with over 140 companies and 47 partners from across the globe to scale up solutions for a low carbon world.

It is through initiatives such as WBCSD’s LCTPI, powered by the commitment and pride of individuals, that the UN Sustainable Development Goals will be met. Ensuring that we strengthen the capacity for adaptation to climate change and implement resilient agricultural practices by 2030 is a clear deliverable for Goal 2  – End Hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. We look forward to sharing and learning best practices with our LCTPI colleagues to help make this happen.
