We would like to thank all the candidates who applied for the Olam Prize for Innovation in Food Security, launched in partnership with scientific partner Agropolis Fondation. With applications now closed, the standard of entries has been very high – we wish all candidates the best of luck.

Among the 92 applicants, we are pleased to see strong agricultural research projects across 4 continents from countries including Brazil, Nepal, Mali, Namibia and USA among many others.

The winner of the Olam Prize will be selected by an independent jury of international experts, who will recognise an innovative scientific research project for its potential impact on the availability, affordability, accessibility and adequacy of food.

The winner will receive a total prize of US$50,000 unrestricted funding to support its further development. The laureate will also have the opportunity to work with Olam International to develop the practical application of their innovation with the company’s expertise and agricultural supply chains spanning 47 products in 70 countries.

The Olam Prize is one of 4 initiatives that have been launched to celebrate Olam’s 25th anniversary, and which will encourage us to continue to grow responsibly while addressing some of the global challenges facing the next generation. Find out more here.LMISP_Olam Prize
