Olam is exhibiting its portfolio of ingredients, processed and packaged products at Gulfood, the world’s biggest annual food and hospitality show until Thursday 12th February at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Backed by a global footprint and a 25 year heritage, Olam has developed a strong position in the MENA region and a good reputation for its customer service, said Ravi Pokhriyal, Olam President and Regional Head, Middle East and North Africa.

“We have always recognised MENA’s potential as a consumer market and are continually developing new opportunities in the region. With our strong presence, we’re unique in our ability to source proprietarily, without the need for agents and brokers. The food industry here is dynamic as reflected in the Gulfood event.”

Olam is presenting its offering across edible nuts, coffee, cocoa, spices and speciality vegetable ingredients, dairy, sugar, grains and edible oils at Hall 4: C4-2 where delegates will have the opportunity to sample a variety of products. Information on the breadth of origins, responsible sourcing and pricing is also available.

In addition, Mr Pokhriyal yesterday participated in one of the panels for the World Food Security Summit, organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre to run alongside Gulfood. During the panel titled Building the roadmap to transfer African agro investments into a profitable enterprise, he spoke about Olam’s growth into a global business over the past 25 years from its first steps sourcing cashew in Nigeria and today being present in 24 African countries. He highlighted Olam’s focus on disciplined growth through the adjacency model, our commitment to growing responsibly, and our efforts to mobilise and retain high quality local talent to drive our African businesses. Advising other investors, Mr Pokhriyal stressed that in order to succeed in Africa, businesses need conviction and a long-term focus on the potential and opportunity that exists.
