In 2011, Olam Palm Gabon we were the first company to meet the RSPO’s new plantings requirements in Africa for our Awala plantation. To date 112,455 ha of our palm plantations in Gabon are RSPO certified and we are on track to achieve 100 percent RSPO certification of our operations in Gabon by 2021. Additionally, 3 of our facilities in the U.K. and Gabon have achieved RSPO certification.
Our palm oil from our Gabon plantations is fully traceable and produced under RSPO defined terms. For our third-party sourcing of palm oil we are working with our third-party suppliers to ensure they uphold our commitments under our Sustainable Palm Oil Policy. We prioritise buying from RSPO members and 90 percent of our palm oil is sourced from suppliers who are RSPO members.
